Oestra™ can be used alongside both:

  • hormonal IUDs(like Mirena®, Kyleena®)
  • non-hormonal IUDs(like the copper IUD)

A hormonal IUD mainly affects the uterus—not your systemic hormone levels.

Oestra™ works systemically through vaginal absorption into the bloodstream, so the two do not conflict. If you have specific concerns or symptoms related to your IUD, our clinicians can review them with you.

It is safe, but not advised. Oral birth control pills suppress ovulation and lower the production of your natural hormones, but bind to hormone receptors. Oestra™ can provide systemic support but needs to bind to the same receptors to work. We recommend an IUD, which has a more local effect, if birth control is desired.

Yes—Oestra™ is safe to use while breastfeeding.

Current evidence shows that bioidentical hormone therapy does not reduce milk supply, and many breastfeeding women choose to use Oestra™ for mood, sleep, libido, and overall hormonal support. We do recommend waiting 6 weeks postpartum before starting, simply to allow your milk supply to fully establish. If you have questions about timing or dosing, our clinicians are here to guide you.

No—bioidentical hormone therapy does not cause breast cancer.
This is one of the most pervasive myths in women’s health. Modern research and the FDA have clarified that the original concerns came from outdated studies using:

  • synthetic progestins (not bioidentical progesterone)
  • non-bioidentical estrogens
  • inappropriate populations

Bioidentical, body-identical hormones—most likely do not increase breast cancer risk and may, in some cases, be protective.

Every Oestra™ prescription is reviewed and approved by a licensed clinician. You don’t need a separate appointment—your quiz helps us determine if you’re a good fit to begin safely.

We don’t isolate hormones—we balance them. Most HRT programs target estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone in isolation. Oestra™ is different. It supports all three hormones together in the right ratios, to restore balance without the usual trial-and-error or side effects.

Apply one pearl-sized pump of cream daily to vaginal tissue—using your finger. It doesn’t need to be inserted deeply. Absorption through this tissue supports whole-body hormone balance.

Start with once nightly. If your skin is sensitive, begin every other day and increase frequency gradually. Always follow with sunscreen in the morning.

Yes—but avoid other retinoids or exfoliants (like scrubs or acids) while your skin adjusts. Keep your routine simple and always use SPF during the day.
